The Abridged Statement of Progressive Beliefs

The following is an abridged version of the statement of progressive beliefs I previously posted. This abridged version is designed to be more direct and concise.

1. We believe we are all created equal, equally endowed with certain fundamental rights, such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
2. We believe government has a continuous responsibility and duty to secure the conditions for us to enjoy these rights and to protect us from threats to this security.
3. We believe government is accountable to us, the people, and that the Constitution is the living framework for this accountability.
4. We believe that when government itself becomes a threat to our rights, either directly or through abdication, we the people have a right and duty to change it.
